Guardians of the Gotwalds vs. Aplastic Anemia

This is Jeanne.
If you know her personally, then you know she is the most kindhearted, energetic, fun-loving, and caring person you could meet. She’s a loving mother to two very young beautiful girls, Ellie and Abby. An outstanding wife to her husband, Ben, and only daughter of two loving parents. Her family and friends love and adore her to no end.

At only 33 years old, Jeanne has been given the life altering diagnosis of Aplastic Anemia with PNH complications.

This is not your typical anemia. This beast of a disease more resembles Leukemia. It’s a rare condition in which the body – more specifically her bone marrow – stops producing enough new blood cells. This disease is serious. Her immune system is essentially non-existent and any illness, bleeding or infection can be life-threatening. Carlisle Area Emergency Response Fund

United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County has determined that we can be most helpful in addressing our community’s emerging needs by creating the Carlisle Area Emergency Response Fund.

Your COVID-19 emergency response gift will be used locally to meet the emerging and critical needs in our community by non-profit organizations.  Hosted by United Way in partnership with corporate, municipal, and non-profit entities and individual donors like you, this fund will allow us to rapidly deploy resources to community-based organizations that are offering emergency relief to families and individuals in need, right here in Cumberland County.

The service area will include: Boiling Springs (17007), Carlisle & Carlisle Barracks (17013), Carlisle & West Pennsboro (17015), Mount Holly Springs (17065), New Kingstown (17072), Newville (17241) and Plainfield (17081).

Community leaders will determine the allocation of funds to ensure every dollar is spent appropriately. Funds will be allocated to non-profit organizations on a rolling basis and not awarded directly to individuals.

Operation Veterans Hope

The wounds can be more than physical, it can be emotional as well. Our veterans face and battle challenges everyday. What they have endured in a short time can scar them for life. Join us and help raise money for the individuals who gave all and get nothing in return.

Operation Veterans’ Hope would like to purchase the building it currently operates out of so that we will be able to help more homeless veterans. Purchasing the building would allow us to eventually renovate the upstairs into more rooms allowing us to house more veterans. But we can only do this with your help. Click on our donation page, and give your donation to help us today!
